CMTG was formed in 2014 as a joint venture between Superior Bowen and Clarkson Construction to perform Quality Control for the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT)’s massive Johnson County Gateway Project. In late 2014, CMTG completed its AASHTO accreditation process in Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA), aggregate, asphalt binder, and soils testing. In 2018, Superior Bowen purchased Clarkson’s interests, making CMTG a wholly-owned subsidiary of its family of companies.

Today, CMTG offers extremely specialized lab testing for clients in both the public and private sector. In its Kansas City, Mo., lab, CMTG can bring its highly specialized niche in asphalt paving expertise to clients throughout the Midwest.

Utilizing state-of-the-art testing procedures, equipment and facilities, CMTG performs thorough analyses of asphalt mixes to achieve a materials combination that will prevent rutting, cracking and other serious threats to long-term performance, while also meeting or exceeding commercial, city, county, and state mandated specifications.
